This assortment of 20th-century Russian folk art woodenware features two pieces in the Khokhloma lacquer style. The group includes a large kovsh, or handled bowl, with a handle carved in the form of a bird head, and a smaller bowl shaped like a duck. Both Khokhloma items are decorated with traditional red, gold, and green floral and berry motifs on a black lacquer ground. The collection also includes a condiment set with a boat-shaped base, known as a ladya, which holds three lidded miniature barrels and four small spoons, all decorated with red and yellow geometric and floral patterns. Completing the assembly is a turned wood container in the form of a mushroom with a red and yellow-spotted cap, and a stylized, dark-stained carved wooden crane figurine. There are no visible maker marks or signatures on these items. Height approx. 9.5 cm (note: measured against a visible tape measure showing inches). Condition: The collection is in overall good condition with minor surface dust and light scuffing consistent with age and decorative use. The painted and lacquered surfaces remain vibrant. There are no visible chips, cracks, or structural repairs to any of the pieces.
