Savage Model 99, .300 Savage Classic Savage Model 99 rifle chambered in the historic .300 Savage cartridge — the flat-shooting round Savage developed in 1920 and one of the most influential American sporting cartridges of the 20th century. The barrel is clearly roll-marked "SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION — CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. — U.S.A." with the caliber stamped ".300 SAVAGE" and an "SP" proof mark, and an individual serial number is stamped at the barrel/receiver junction. Simple, rugged Savage engineering built for generations of hunters. The rifle wears a nicely figured walnut buttstock and forearm with sharp diamond-point checkering panels, a black buttplate, and a sling swivel stud at the toe for practical field carry.
