A collection of Johnson Brothers earthenware dinnerware decorated in The Friendly Village pattern. The assortment includes dinner plates, side plates, bowls, mugs, a lidded teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, a creamer, and a serving platter. The design consists of brown transfer-printed scenes depicting rustic buildings, covered bridges, and festive interiors with fireplaces, each hand-coloured with green and red tints. The rim of each piece features a border of grape leaves and clusters. The underside of the pieces displays a backstamp featuring a signpost graphic and text reading THE FRIENDLY VILLAGE By Johnson Bros ENGLAND 1883, FROM AN ORIGINAL HAND ENGRAVING, DISHWASHER, FREEZER AND MICROWAVE SAFE. Condition: The set is in good condition, showing light surface wear and minor marks from domestic use. No visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair.
