Lionel Corporation, 1955. The Lionelville Rapid Transit Trolley motorized unit, debuting in August 1955. This O scale model features a yellow molded plastic body with a red clerestory roof and distinctive passenger silhouette window inserts. Sides bear blue printed text including LIONEL and SAVE TIME HAVE FARE READY. The die-cast metal chassis includes pick-up rollers and a functional bump-and-go mechanism. It comes housed in the original manufacturer’s box. This vintage trolley retains bold colors with a clean plastic body and intact pole. The original box shows expected age-related shelf wear including taped repairs but remains present.
