Four 19th-century American currency and transportation notes dating from the Civil War and Reconstruction eras. Includes an 1873 South Carolina Rail Road Company $2 fare ticket, issued in Charleston and illustrated with a horse-drawn street scene and locomotive vignette; an 1873 South Carolina Rail Road Company $5 fare ticket, featuring a detailed steam locomotive vignette; an 1862 State of Virginia, City of Richmond 60-cent scrip note, authorized by Act of Assembly and dated April 14, 1862; and an 1863 United States 25-cent Fractional Currency note, Fourth Issue, featuring a portrait of George Washington and red Treasury seal.
