Mossberg & Sons Model 44US bolt-action target rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Bearing serial number 122410, official War Department procurement archives place the production of this specific rifle between 1943 and 1944. This premium collector's package comes complete with an official Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Certificate of Authenticity, guaranteeing its genuine U.S. government training provenance. Contracted directly by the U.S. military to train standard infantrymen and cadets in basic marksmanship, this heavy-barrel target rimfire proudly bears the crisp, factory-stamped "U.S. PROPERTY" markings on both the receiver and barrel.
