Joseph Levy "J.L." Melancon (1906-1991) Trout, LA 6.75" 1 duck stamped call with an attached metal lanyard loop. In 1956, Melancon purchased the Turpin duck-call business, continuing to produce calls under the Turpin name while also making calls of his own. Examples of his calls are typically marked “J.L. Melancon” and are known with brass reeds and traditional Louisiana-style construction. Melancon was also an advocate for the art of duck calling and authored instructional literature, including The Art of Duck Calling and How to Master a Duck Call. His company, J.L. Melancon Enterprises, published Ducks—How to Call Them in 1987.Condition: Very good and original with light wear from useProvenance: Don Weaver Collection
