E.S. Stofer (1886-1958) Kansas City, MO 6" and 5.5" E. STOFER K.C. M.O stamped on side of both barrels. Both have matching numbered inserts and wedges, numbered 10 and 16 for the tall and short calls, respectively. Though little is known about Dr. Stofer himself, who served as a medic in World War I, his calls are incredibly collectible and well known for the volume they were made in. Stofer based his highly popular metal reed calls on a style forged by Tom Turpin (1871-1957). Stofer produced the vast majority of his calls from the 30's through early 50's, during which calls in this style were highly popular with hunters. Stofer sold the calls directly and had advertised in numerous sporting publications at the time. MO 376 & 411Condition: Very good and original. Some varnish crackling on both insertsProvenance: Picone Family Collection
