This elegant antique Japanese porcelain covered sugar bowl features delicate hand-painted floral sprays of pink roses and soft yellow blossoms set against a pale cream border band and white porcelain ground. The piece is accented with heavy gold gilt application across the loop handles, rim, and top finial knob. Preserved in excellent antique condition with minimal wear to the gilding and no chips, cracks, or repairs, this piece exhibits fine early 20th-century craftsmanship and visual charm. The underside bears the authentic blue hand-painted "Rising Sun" backstamp marked "Hand Painted NIPPON." This historic mark dates the piece specifically between 1891 and 1921, prior to U.S. import law changes requiring items to be stamped with "Japan." Produced during the golden age of Japanese export porcelain for Western markets, authentic Nippon pieces featuring rich gold gilding and hand-painted florals remain highly sought after by porcelain collectors worldwide.
