"Vintage Peanuts Snoopy wardrobe and travel lot centered around a large red Snoopy suitcase measuring approximately 19"" wide x 12.5"" tall x 4.5"" deep. The suitcase features Snoopy hugging Woodstock artwork with ©1958, 1965 United Feature Syndicate, Inc. markings, yellow piping and handle, metal zipper and hardware, and an interior Applause Enterprises, Inc., San Francisco label noting manufacture in Taiwan, R.O.C. The suitcase shows age-related exterior and interior wear, staining and discoloration as pictured. Included is a vintage Snoopy’s Wardrobe “Come Hike With Me!” outfit, consisting of the printed Snoopy/Woodstock hiking shirt, khaki shorts and red whistle. Comparable examples identify this as part of the collectible Snoopy’s Wardrobe clothing line; vintage examples of the same “Come Hike With Me” outfit and other individual wardrobe sets are actively collected today. Also included is the original-style Snoopy’s Wardrobe illustrated catalog/pamphlet, showing the extensive assortment of Snoopy costumes available in the line. The additional outfits illustrated in the pamphlet are NOT included in this lot. Lot also includes a large piece of vintage Peanuts character-patterned fabric/material with clear plastic covering, measuring approximately 56.5"" x 38"", featuring repeating Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, Woodstock and other Peanuts characters. Vintage Snoopy’s Wardrobe pieces were produced in numerous themed outfits and sizes, including clothing made in Hong Kong, consistent with the markings visible on the included wardrobe literature. A desirable grouping for Peanuts and vintage Snoopy collectors, particularly because the suitcase, wardrobe literature and surviving hiking outfit remain together. See photos for full details.
