Vintage genuine fur coat from Bracker’s “Border Fashions,” Nogales, Arizona, retaining its original woven Bracker’s label. Bracker’s was a longtime Nogales department store founded by the Bracker family and operated for more than 90 years before closing in 2017. This distinctive Southwestern-era coat is constructed from multiple natural fur pelts in varying shades of golden tan, reddish brown, gray-brown, and dark brown, arranged in contrasting vertical and geometric sections. Features a rust-colored satin lining, braided dark trim around the neckline, and long braided cord closures ending in elaborate decorative knots. The specific fur species has not been confirmed; a period Bracker’s coat has been documented as mink, but this example should be described simply as genuine fur unless positively identified. Appears well preserved overall with expected age-related wear; examine photos carefully for condition of fur, seams, lining, and trim. See photos for full details.
