American hardwood craftsmanship highlights machine-cut dovetails and turned mushroom knobs with radial starburst backplates, circa 1890. This three-drawer commode features a unique carved winged propeller applique on the central drawerfront. The primary reddish-brown stained hardwood is supported by light-colored softwood secondary drawer interiors. 33 x 39 x 20 inches. This chest remains in good condition for its age with crisp corners and original hardware. The top surface shows finish wear reflective of its long history, while the wood maintains a bold color.
