Unique selection of a framed piece of art, perfect for any collector for home display. The selection is entitled “Lady in Green” and it was produced by artist Fernando de Jesus Oliveira (also known as Ferjo). The picture is a classic example of Ferjo’s dreamlike surrealism, showcasing a sharply angled perspective corridor with a variety of different objects constructed within different artistic styles within it. The includes a woman standing in the corner (ironically wearing black contrary to the name of the painting), floating fruit, ribbons, a butterfly, and a pencil. Each of these items hold different messages as Ferjo believed in “hieroglyphs of the walking eye” to bridge the gap between reality and the subconscious dream state. Fernando de Jesus Oliveira (Ferjo)is a celebrated Brazilian American contemporary artist, born in 1946. He especially focuses on becoming a bridge between the old and new worlds of art history. As a result, his dream landscapes are deeply rooted in the 20th-century surrealists but at the same time his paintings serve as a living gallery observing a multitude of styles. This direct piece is a limited-edition lithograph framed, matted and under glass. Part of a limited run, this direct lithograph is actually an Artist’s Proof as it is marked “AP” in the bottom left corner of the piece in what appears to be pencil. The bottom right corner appears to display the artist’s signature in pencil. The overall presentation measures 30.5” H x 36” W with the interior print measuring approx. 23.5” H x 27” W. The piece overall is in nice condition but there has been some repair work done to the frame only. Frame was previously cracked on left side and has been glued together. The interior print appears to be unaffected altogether and now the restored frame looks great. A certificate of authenticity comes with the piece.
