This antique Victorian era dome top steamer trunk features a decorative embossed metal exterior with an intricate swirling pattern layout. The storage chest is reinforced with heavy vertical wood slats across the rounded lid alongside durable iron bands, corner brackets, and floral metal medallions. The front retains its original heavy metal central locking latch assembly accompanied by two outer flip down side clasps. Opening the dome lid reveals a fully lined paper interior showing a traditional geometric pattern print and an original colorful lithograph picture card centered inside the lid depicting a woman in historic attire. The trunk exhibits an authentic aged patina with widespread surface wear, localized rust, staining, scuffs, finish loss, and a missing leather side handle that reflect its historical travel use.
