R Serial # 192. 16 Ga double barrel shotgun with 24” barrels. The bores are poor with heavy rust/fouling. The barrels have been cut back and are choked Cylinder. Appears to be Austrian proofed. The metal finish on the barrels is a blotchy brownish gray patina with scattered light rust. There is a solder repair at the muzzle and several repairs along the barrel rib. The front bead is missing. There are several dents in each barrel. The engraved receiver is mostly a dark gray patina with a covering of light surface rust. The checkered walnut forearm is in fair condition showing wear with slivers of wood missing; the initials J.P. are carved into the bottom at the rear. The checkered walnut butt stock is in poor condition, there is a large chunk missing on the left side of the upper tang and a chip missing from the end of the grip. Bome butt plate. The stock is loose. European style swivels. The action works OK, bu tis sluggish due to the break in the stock. C&R.
