R Serial # 173977. .300 H&H Magnum caliber bolt action rifle with a 26” barrel. The bore is poor, dirty with heavy fouling. It should clean better. Made in 1951. The blued metal finish on the barrel is in very good condition showing slight thinning with scattered light scratches and some widely scattered light freckling. The blued finish on the receiver is in very good condition showing little with scattered light scratches and some light freckling. The floor plate is a newer replacement, probably from a Model 700. The black enamel finish is in excellent condition showing little wear. The checkered gray laminated wood stock is a newer replacement, possibly a Boyd’s stock made for Remington. It is in very good to excellent condition showing a few scattered light marks. Black rubber recoil pad. Original front sight, the rear sight has been removed and the dovetail filled with a blank. Swivel studs. The action works fine. Includes a Bushnell Scope Chief 3-9x40 scope in a Williams mount. C&R.
