This lot features a heavy vitrified ceramic cup and saucer set alongside a collection of collegiate pinback buttons. The white glazed china pieces are decorated with a forest green band and a transfer-printed seal for Michigan State College of Agriculture and Applied Science. On the underside of both ceramic items is a green printed mark depicting a seated figure decorating a vessel, positioned above the text SHENANGO CHINA NEW CASTLE, PA. U.S.A. A8. The four pinback buttons include Beat Ohio State and Go Spartans.Saucer measures 5.5 inches in diameter.Cup measures 3 inches in height.Buttons measure 3 inches in diameter.The ceramic pieces show minor shelf wear and brownish staining to the unglazed foot of the cup. The transfer-printed logos and green bands remain intact without visible chips or cracks. All four pinback buttons exhibit oxidation and surface rust to the metal reverse sides.
