A set of four green uranium glass footed sherbet or dessert bowls dating from the Depression era. These transparent light green pressed glass pieces contain a small amount of uranium oxide, which causes them to exhibit a brilliant neon green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. Each bowl features a pattern of vertical molded ribs or panels on the exterior that extend from the multifaceted stem toward the smooth rim. The forms are supported by short stems and circular, slightly domed bases. No maker marks, signatures, or backstamps are present on any of the pieces.Diameter: 3 5/8 inchesHeight: 3 inchesThe set is in excellent overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. Minor internal seeds or air bubbles are present as inherent manufacturing artifacts from the time of production. The glass remains bright and clear with no evidence of significant shelf wear or clouding.
