Vintage drafting instrument set in its original hinged case, black textured covering with a snap flap, stamped in gold with an oval Post logo and Made in U.S.A. below, a Frederick Post Company product. Interior is purple velvet with shaped channels and opens flat into three panels. Contents include three small bow compasses with knurled bone colored handles and thumbscrews, two larger compasses with pivoting legs and interchangeable point holders, a ruling pen with red brown wood handle and brass ferrule, extension bars, spare point holders, a small lead case, and a separate ruling pen head. One handle is stamped Posts Germany, normal for Post sets since the company imported German instruments. Several channels are empty, so the set is not complete. Condition is fair to good. Nickel plated instruments show tarnish, spotting, and light corrosion. The black covering is scuffed and worn through to the tan board at both corners and along the spine, with fraying at the edges. Velvet is dusty. Estimated Value: $25 to $50 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
