Deep cranberry red glass decanter cut through to the clear glass underneath, the style collectors call cut to clear. Against the ruler in the photos it stands about twelve inches tall to the top of the stopper. The neck is cut with long rounded panels running its full length. The shoulder carries a band of oval thumbprint cuts, then a narrow border of cut stars in a hatched ribbon, and the body is covered in a deep cut diamond lattice finished with a row of large oval punties. The base has a cut multi point star. The cutting is deep and the clear areas are polished bright. There is no maker mark, label, or signature anywhere on the piece. The maker, origin, and age cannot be determined from photos. The stopper is plain clear glass with a ground shank, not cased in red like the body, and is likely a replacement. No chips or cracks are visible in the photos, but assume normal use wear for the age. Authenticity has not been verified by Crawford Auction Service. Estimated Value: $50 to $125 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
