Tribal Coin Bib Necklace with Blue Stones

Tribal bib necklace in the Central Asian style widely sold as Kuchi or Afghan gypsy jewelry, and it is a real statement piece. The collar is built from rows of overlapping crescent shaped plaques, each one hand stamped with rows of dots and small circles and joined with heavy jump rings. Scattered across the upper row are round cabochons in turquoise blue and bright green glass. Below the collar hangs a full fringe of hammered flat bar links, each ending in a stamped teardrop shaped drop that reads like a small coin. The necklace hangs from a plain cable chain and closes with a hand formed hook. The metal is a dark oxidized silver color alloy over a copper base, and the copper shows through warmly along the high points and edges. Condition is good with heavy honest patina, general darkening, and small spots of green oxidation, all normal on tribal work of this kind. Stones are untested and described from visual observation only. Estimated Value: $40 to $75 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
