Sterling Silver Button Row Cuff Marked ES

Heavy sterling silver cuff bracelet made in the Southwestern silversmithing tradition. The cuff is a smooth solid band with a center row of small stamped buttons applied to the face, each domed and struck with a radiating sunburst, running the full length. Flanking it on both outer edges are second and third rows of larger scalloped shell shaped buttons, with bands of flat braided wire and twisted rope wire framing every row. The open ends finish in wide shaped terminal caps with scalloped edges. The inside of the band is clearly stamped with a set of joined initials that read ES, and directly below that the word STERLING, both sharp and readable in the close-up photos. The silver carries a warm honey patina in the recesses with brighter polished high points. Condition is very good with no bends, no cracks in the applied work, and no missing buttons. STERLING means 92.5 percent pure silver. Crawford Auction Service has not attributed the ES mark to a specific maker. Estimated Value: $125 to $250 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is.
