This lot comprises two commemorative medallions featuring Wayne Gretzky, issued to mark his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1999. The primary item is a bronze medallion produced by The Highland Mint. The obverse displays a portrait of Gretzky wearing a Jofa branded helmet, inscribed with HALL OF FAME NOVEMBER 22, 1999, a facsimile signature, and the text WAYNE GRETZKY 99. The reverse features a central silhouette of a hockey player in action, surrounded by the text HOCKEY HALL OF FAME and LE TEMPLE de LA RENOMMEE du HOCKEY. An incised edition number 6736 is present at the base. This medallion is housed in a clear protective plastic capsule within a black velvet-covered presentation box, featuring a silk-lined lid with The Highland Mint Mint-Coin Sports Collection logo. It is accompanied by a matching Certificate of Authenticity bearing the numbered edition sticker 6736, confirming it as a licensed product from WDG Enterprises, Inc. and the Hockey Hall of Fame. The second item is a smaller silver-toned medallion featuring a portrait of Gretzky with the text 1999 WAYNE GRETZKY, housed in a plastic capsule and mounted on a blue card backing. Large medallion approx. diameter 4.4 cm, small medallion approx. diameter 3.2 cm, case approx. width 8.3 cm (measured against a ruler, converted from inches). Condition: The medallions are in well-preserved condition within their protective capsules. The capsules exhibit minor surface scuffing. The presentation box shows light wear to the external velvet surface. The Certificate of Authenticity has a distinct horizontal crease across the centre.
