A large lidded beer stein produced by Crackpot Ceramics, featuring elaborate relief-molded decoration with a rustic hunting theme. The tapered cylindrical body depicts scenes of a hunter in traditional Alpine attire holding a pipe and rifle, alongside a separate panel featuring a stag in a forest setting. The handle is modeled as a gnarled tree branch adorned with relief-molded oak leaves. The hinged lid consists of a metal-finished rim and a ceramic base topped with a three-dimensional sculptural finial of a seated hunter with a dog on a rocky outcrop. The exterior is finished with a matte polychrome glaze in a palette of earth tones including brown, green, and tan, accented by a red vest on the hunter figures and a solid blue band encircling the base. The interior features a smooth, cream-colored glaze. The underside of the base bears the incised mark CRACKPOT CERAMICS. Height: approx. 12.5 inches. Condition: The stein remains in overall very good condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible to the body or handle. A minor surface mark or small nick is present on the lower edge of the ceramic base of the lid. The metal hinge mechanism is intact and functional. Light surface wear is consistent with age and handling.
