Awesome 800 Series Single-Neck Steel Guitar, produced by Fender for your musical enjoyment. Guitar is presented in a classic 3-color sunburst finish, featuring a dark outer edge that transitions to a red-orange hue and then finally a bright yellow center. Unlike the prior “Fender 400” models, the Fender 800 steel guitar was an updated series that held a 10-string configuration versus the eight strings prior. While the 400 was considered a “student model”, the 800 was designed for professionals. The sound of the instrument is often described as bright, clear, and “hi-fi”. As the unit was designed during an era focused on clean, country-western tones, it has a very distinct personality compared to modern pedal steels. Instrument comes with four detachable legs that can be screwed on at the base. Near the bottom of the assembly is the attachable pedal bar or pedal rack. Pedal rack holds six different pedals that are attached via pedal rods to the main unit, allowing the player to control pitch. Case measures approx. 19” H x 40” W x 6” D. Guitar also comes with a selection of slides, finger picks, and pedal rods that attach pedal rack to rest of unit. Unit is in overall great condition for its vintage age, some minor surface ware due to nature of play.
