Awesome selection of a 5-String Resonator Banjo, perfect for your musical enjoyment. The defining instrument of bluegrass music, this instrument is designed for high volume, rapid-fire speed, and bright, “punchy” tone that can cut through a full band. Different that an “open-back” styled banjo, the “resonator” is a bowl-shaped wooden plate attached to the back of the banjo’s body. Its intention is to bounce sound waves forward towards the audience. Tonally it also creates a “sound chamber” that gives the instrument its signature ringing sustain and metallic quality. The resonator banjo is almost exclusively paired with “Scruggs-style or “Three-Finger” picking. Banjo is of great quality, appearing very complete and without any observable damage. Unable to find the exact manufacturer or manufactured date, it easily appears that the instrument is of a vintage age and still in high quality form. Banjo measures 39” H x 14” W.
