Antique Hopkins & Robinson “Change Maker” cash register. Made by the Hopkins & Robinson Mfg. Co. in Louisville, KY. (per metal tag on the front of register). Patent date is Nov. 20, 1883. Metal plate on top distinguishing slots for 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 cents and $1.00. Very nice and detailed wood case. Back lid is newer piece. Has a lift up lid on top to access coins. Has push in keys in front to get change from 1 cent to $1.00 in change. The key selected will provide the exact change. A metal tray at the center will drop that exact change requested. One of the side panel has a small lock but does not come with a key. This does not affect the main operation of the register. Looks to be in good working order. Case stands upright.
