Vintage Detroit Automatic Scale, produced by the Detroit Automatic Scale Company. This is a mercantile or store computing scale, commonly used in grocery stores or candy shops in the early 20th century. Cast iron construction with a grey finish accented with black pinstriping and the “DETROIT” name on the front and back of the base as well as the back of the top section. Looks to be complete with additional weights. Currently does not register any weight so will need to be adjusted or repaired to work as designed. Has age and use wear with paint loss and corrosion.
