Unique selection of a framed piece of art, perfect for home display. The piece is entitled “Painted” and it was produced by artist Guillaume Azoulay. The piece showcases an highly articulated spotted or “painted” horse done in intricate line detail. Guillaume Azoulay is a self-taught, Moroccan-born artist known as the “King of the Line”. Born in Casablanca in 1949, he began selling his sketches on the street at age 13 and then became the youngest artist to have his works accepted into the infamous Louvre art museum. His style once again focuses on the “purity of line”, using continuous organic lines to create a powerful illusion of fluid motion, depth, and volume. There is often a topographical element where he often treats biological subjects uniquely like landscapes. He is also famous for using continuous lines to complete pictures without ever lifting his pen from the paper. The overall picture is framed, matted, and under glass measuring 28” H x 33.5” W. The interior print measures approx. 14” H x 18” W. The bottom right-hand corner showcases in handwritten pencil “M.E. 12/25” “Painted” and “2014”. “M.E.” stands for “Museum Edition” which is a far less print run than the standard numbered edition. The bottom right-hand corner appears to hold the artist’s signature. Item also come with certificate of authenticity.
