Large antique 1895 school bell. Cast into the bell is “Elco County High School, 1895, Knowledge Is Power”. May have been from Elco County in Nevada. Cast into the steel yoke is “Meneely, Troy N.Y.”. The Meneely Bell Foundry was established in Troy, N.Y. in 1826 and closed in 1952. Bell is in very good condition but does have a crack down one side. Does not have a clapper. A great and unusual display piece. Bell measures 24” tall, 38” across the yoke with bell 27” in diameter. ** NOTE: Bell is very heavy.
