This set of three American sterling silver pierced serving spoons includes examples by makers Gorham, Durgin, and Frank M. Whiting. The collection features Rococo, beaded, and floral handle designs with intricately pierced bowls in foliate and lattice patterns. Some handles are monogrammed. The reverse of the handles bears various hallmarks including a lion passant, anchor, and Gothic letter, a letter within a shield cartouche, and a letter with a crest. These spoons measure between 4.5 to 5.25 inches in length and have a total weight of 1.970 OZT. Items are in good antique condition with light surface scratching consistent with use. Expected tarnish is visible in the recessed decorative elements and piercings (photos 1, 6, 11). No visible dents or repairs are present.
