This sterling silver pierced tomato server is rendered in the ornate Versailles pattern. The heart-shaped bowl features intricate foliate scrolls surrounding a central grotesque mask, and the reverse of the handle is monogrammed. Stampedmarks on the shank include a lion passant, an anchor, and a gothic letter G, followed by the model number H47 and sterling designation. The server measures 5 inches in length and weighs 1.370 OZT. Expected tarnish is present throughout the ornate recessed details (photo 3). Fine surface scratches consistent with domestic use are visible on smooth areas (photo 4). The delicate pierced work remains intact without visible breaks.
