This regional Impressionist landscape in oil on canvas board, titled Autumn, was executed by Philip S. Yeager in 1934. The composition depicts Fort Hunter, Pennsylvania, featuring a gnarled white-barked tree in the foreground set againstrolling hills. The work is signed and dated Philip S. Yeager '34 at the lower right. A handwritten label and supplier stickers for Henry M. Taws and Fredrix are affixed to the reverse. Painting: 12 x 15.75 inches; Frame: 19.25 x 23 inches. The painting is in good overall condition. The ornate gilded frame exhibits light wear to the edges (photo 1) and minor cracking in the decorative molding with separation at the corner miters (photo 5).
