Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881–1973), Titled Portrait of Jacqueline. Original drawing dated 29 June 1940. Color lithograph (after the original drawing) from Picasso: Dessins, with text by Paul Eluard. Published by Les Editions Braun & Cie, Paris, printed in France on heavy wove paper with deckled edges. Executed with remarkable economy of line, this elegant portrait depicts a frontal female bust rendered in Picasso's unmistakable linear style. Delicate yellow contour lines define the face and elongated neck, while flowing green lines describe the hair, creating a striking balance of simplicity and expression. The composition demonstrates Picasso's ability to capture character through only a few confident strokes. The upper left bears the printed date 29 Juin 40, corresponding to the date of Picasso's original drawing, while the lower right contains the printed Picasso signature. This sheet is from the celebrated Picasso: Dessins portfolio edited by poet Paul Eluard and issued by the distinguished Paris publisher Braun & Cie. Condition Very good overall condition. Strong, fresh colors with wide margins, deckled edges, and a clean sheet. The printed date, signature, and line work are crisp. No significant condition issues noted under normal inspection. Measures 9.5" x 12.25". Cover page provided for reference only, not included in sale.
