This is a still promotional non-mechanical cast iron bank, elliptical shaped with a typical coin slot in the front for coin drop. There is a brass plate on the front with an embossed inscription: THE MAIN LINE NATIONAL BANK OF WAYNE PENNSYVANIA "THE SAVING HABIT IS A GOOD HABIT" These were given as promotional items for account openings. Age:1890-1910 Origin: Pottsville, Schuylkill County, PA Maker: Possibly Hubley Mnfg. Condition: cast iron oxidation, brass plate intact. Sturdy construction; tight rivets, no damage; STRONGHOLD stamped on bottom. Dimensions: 2'H x 3"L x 2"W
