ca. 18th-early 19th century; Attributed to Pennsylvania, small-size walnut chest in dovetailed construction with short dovetailed bracket molded feet with fine ogee molded wooden peg mounted trim on all sides. The diminutive chest is possible a Pennsylvania rendition of a cellar chest with traditional left-side till and two compartment divider to right side of interior. The chest's lid has wooden pinned nose- molded breadboard ends and front. The lid is on early iron butt hinges, chest retains original chest lock and retains old original finish; 21 1/2" x 12 1/4" x 9"; Condition: Hinges are an early era replacement with evidence of original surface mounted H-hinges. Repairs to front right foot and to left hinge chest mount.
