ca. 1850-1890; Full body rooster originally used as an architectural spire topper, popular during the "Queen Anne" and "Gothic Revival Period". This zinc covered sheet metal rooster stands atop a red painted ball on conical spire cap. The full body rooster has raised tail feathers, cock's comb on a raised head and retains some of its original gilded paint and red paint on ball; 12 1/2" x 6" x 27"; Condition: "As found", hole through cock's comb of rooster. Great patina from weather.
