ca. 1875; Salt glazed cylindrical stoneware butter crock with lid, six brushed hanging two stroke festoons and a pair of brushed cobalt outlines on the applied pair of crescent lugs, flattened banded rim and impressed shoulder ring. The disk lid has a broad button knob with a brushed five petal design surrounding the knob and six spaced three daub rim motifs, attributed to the Baltimore, MD area; 6 3/8" high (total), 8 3/4" diam (total); Condition: Crock - 3/4" rim chip, 8 1/2" line across base and partially up the side, other associated base lines. Lid - 1/4" stone pop on knob, slight cobalt fry.
