ca. mid-late19th century; Believed to be a Pennsylvania made tin coffee pot with original japanned and hand painted fruit and leaf band decoration, rolled tin sheet and solder constructed lighthouse shaped pot with brass knob on domed hinged lid and gooseneck spout. The pot has flanged foot and mounted braced handle, original dark japanned ground with a bright yellow-red hand painted leaf and pomegranate band above a berry and leaf band with gray toned ground. The pot has yellow brush strokes to flange, collar and lid; 7 1/2" dia. X 9 1/2" x 11"; Condition: solder separation at elbow of spout. Paint is original. Extensive soiling to lid and flange foot. Minor crease to handle. Unfortunately appears have been poorly kept (possible in plastic wrap) with lineal crackling to japanned ground. 80%-90% original surface intact.
