ca. 1875; Salt glazed cylindrical covered butter crock with brushed cobalt band of six palmate designs and daubs with connecting wavy line on molded crescent lugs, lid decorated with five curving feathered festoons and ring around knob, impressed 'RCR / Phila.' (Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA), flattened rim, tooled collar ring, Albany slip glaze interior; Base 5 7/8" high × 10 1/8" dia.; overall covered 7" high × 10 3/8" dia.; Condition: Base - 7/8" rim bruise, 3/4" and smaller rim flakes, 7/8" lug edge flake. Lid - 3/4" knob chip, 3/4" and smaller rim lines, 1/4" and smaller rim flakes, 1 1/8" flange edge flake.
