ca. Dated 1755 & 1782; Redware bowl with curved bulbous sides and tooled foot, punctuated rings and incised decoration in brown, green, orange and yellow on a cream lead glazed ground; designs of foliage, flowers and a portrait of an unknown man in the interior well; interior band dated 1755 with German wording. By association similar 41 lobed overhanging domed lid with erect hollow rosette rattler knob, punctuated rings and incised decorations in the above colors, exterior German worded band, interior with a bird on leafy fruited branch dated 1782 and punctuated border band, northern Germany origin; Bowl - 2 5/8" high x 6 1/2" diam; Lid - 2 1/2" high (total), 6 1/8" diam; Condition: Bowl - some edge glaze losses and 1/4" spot of interior glaze loss. Lid - 1/2" shallow rim chip, smaller edge glaze losses, 1" section of glaze exfoliation.
