Difficult to find oak, Eastlake-style, glass front veterinary cabinet produced for Dr. John T. Claris (1861-1923). Claris was a well-respected veterinarian/livestock inspector/businessman in Buffalo, NY. This cabinet is in the original finish and the original glass. The marquee, often missing with these cabinets, is in a mis-matched patina and might be a marriage, though it is period-correct. Carved into the marquee and doors is "Dr Claris Veterinary Medicines Buffalo NY". Ca. 1890. 33 1/2"H x 23 1/4"W x 7 1/4"D Victorian latch is a replacement.
