Group of two bins including the green (dark) version of Sterling Tobacco and the yellow (light) version of Sweet Burley. Both brands of tobacco were produced by Spaulding and Merrick, a Chicago based distributor of various well-known tobacco brands from 1866 to 1925. It was part of the merger under the American Tobacco Company which created a trust of many different companies and later broken up by the U.S. government. After which, the Spaulding & Merrick flag wasn't promoted by its parent company and was discontinued in 1925. 11 1/4"H Sterling with good color and bright gold gilt. Dents and scratches. Sweet Burley with overall wear to the litho.
