Sid Howard, 1913-1992, Sydney NS, one of the original grand masters, part of the "First Wave" of Nova Scotia carvers working before the ground breaking 1976 Folk Art of Nova Scotia Exhibition. Sid carved both realistic figures as well as fantasy figures. This carving is a little of both. A carved pine cow's head complete with carved horns and ears and glass eyes, head carved from a single log, designed as a wall hanging, very good condition. 12"W x 18"H x 12"D.
