Louis Jeremy, 1867-1947, Mi'kmaq from the Annapolis Valley, he was a renowned carver and woodsman and his work is held in several museums. This is a very scarce realistic "Carving" by Louis Jeremy where he carved a log, added ears covered it in canvas and created a very realistic deer head to which he added a pair of antlers from a deer shot by hunters so they had a trophy of their hunt, great overall folk art feeling, early 20th C. 16"W x 15"H x 12"D.
