An early 19th-century needlework alphabet sampler hand-stitched on a linen ground. The piece features rows of uppercase and lowercase alphabets in red, tan, and dark blue threads. It is signed Lucy Brimblecom. with the date 34 and presented in a stained wood frame with a gallery label from Neville-Sargent Gallery on the reverse. Frame measures 12.75 x 15.5 inches.The linen ground shows significant toning and darkening. Small holes and fraying are present along the edges. Embroidery thread exhibits heavy fading, particularly in the top rows. The piece is securely mounted behind UV-protective glass.
