The 1914 Liberty Patent Automatic Pistol is a vintage semi-automatic handgun manufactured in Eibar, Spain, by the firearms firm Retolaza Hermanos. It belongs to a broad category of firearms collectively known as "Ruby" or "Eibar" type pistols, which were primarily built as affordable copies of early Browning-designed handguns like the FN/Colt Model 1903. During the World War I, the French Army faced severe handgun shortages. They placed massive orders with Spanish manufacturers in the Eibar region. The French purchased hundreds of thousands of these Ruby-type variants under the official designation Pistolet Automatique de 7 millim.65 genre "Ruby". The pistol is a simple, blowback-operated firearm. HIGHLIGHTS: • Serial #: 45747 • Spanish made firearm. • Early semi-auto pocket pistol with compact frame. • 8-Round detachable magazine • Overall length 5.95 inches Description: Collectible early 20th-century automatic pistol — historical interest.
