We are pleased to offer five pieces of painted Soap Hollow including this stenciled blanket chest initialed "L T" and dated "1879" in the original paint. Attributed to Joseph (1847-1912) and John (1855-1932) Sala who worked in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, Pa. Attribution based on red/black paint, spacing between the numbers in the year 1879, style and placement of the decal and the type of escutcheon used. An excellent example. 24"H x 46"W x 19 1/4"D Very good with light wear to edges.
