Great Travelling Paint-Decorated Judge's Cupboard

Very unusual 2-door cupboard. Dovetailed case, heart-shaped handles on both sides, raised panel doors open to reveal a divided interior in a spectacular blue paint. The right side with cubbyholes over four dovetailed drawers. The left side would have had cubbyholes and possible shelves, but is now open. There remains three paper labels from the 1830s affixed to the fronts of cubbyholes with Latin phrases including Fi. Fa. which is short for Fieri Facias and Capias. These pertain to legal writs and the execution of judgment. The handles would indicate this moved with either the judge or the attorney as they rode the circuit in the early days of America. Exterior of cupboard in a butterscotch color which appears to be the original paint. 24"H x 38"W x 15 1/4"D Two small pieces of wood missing from both front corners. Typical wear from age and use.
