Ink inscribed bust view CDV of recently promoted Lieutenant Benjamin F. Wright (1835-1909). Signed "Lieut Wright Co C 190 PVV". Benjamin Wright enlisted into Company C "Cameron County Rifles" of the 1st Pa Rifles/13th Pa Reserves/42nd Pa in June of 1861. He was promoted to Sergeant at some point and is on the Pennsylvania Memorial at Gettysburg with that rank. He re-enlisted into the 190th Pa when the Pa Reserve Brigades re-enlisted in 1864 and the survivors were combined into two regiments...the 190th/191st. Wright was taken prisoner at Weldon Railroad on 8/19/1864. He was promoted to 1st Lt. on 7/3/1865 and this is when this particular photo was taken. Backmark Le Rue Remer, Harrisburg, Pa. 4"H x 2 1/2"W Some light soiling. Crisp ink signature.
